Back To A One Cat Household

When Juli and I married we combined two households of animals. For myself I just had Skoodles, the cat my daughter adopted, but the cat adopted me. Juli had Ginger, also a human adopting cat, Pixie the long-haired, loud mouth that she rescued, Sheena the black cocker spaniel, and Buster the cockatiel.

Car Audio Conundrums Revisited

Awhile back when I was still driving Methuselah I went through a period trying to get Bluetooth working with older technology so I could listen to podcasts during my commute. Ultimately I picked up a used JVC with Bluetooth from a co-worker and things got worked out nicely. With the passing of Methuselah I ended […]

Annual Computer Freshen Up

A few days ago I generated a new security certificate for the website, it is installed and goes live on the 28th. I don’t have anything that needs super secret in transit security, but it’s available, free for non-profit use and I can, so I do it. Plus if we are to believe that the […]

“…Lies, Damned Lies and Statistics…” – Mark Twain

So here’s how it started, I was Twitter surfing. The same as web surfing, except I read a tweet from someone I follow, ended up on their feed and saw a tweet from someone they follow and away I go reading tweets from people I don’t know. Being a life long K.O.O.K. (Keeper Of Odd […]

Nasty Cars

I admit I don’t keep a spotless vehicle. Even in High School when others were washing, waxing, vacuuming and applying Armor-All and Westley’s Tire Gloss; if my car didn’t have bird droppings on it and the white letters were reasonably clean I was OK.  But some of the cars that come through the doors of […]

Methuselah Is Gone But Gandalf Has Taken His Place

A few weeks ago I wrote about my old Accord being struck down in the prime of life at 519,380 miles. Sigh…. I wanted to see how long that car would remain viable transportation. I mused that I considered it a girl because a young lady that was a customer at the shop I used […]

Why Did You Leave So Soon?

You belonged to someone else when we first met. The two of you shared many long hours traveling and seeing the world. At first I only knew you from afar, but as time carried on we got to know each other more intimately. Then the two of you split. It had been a long happy […]
