Receiving Blessings From God
Have you ever asked God for something and it seems you got just the opposite of what you thought you wanted? You ask for help in the midst of a trial and it seems your troubles are compounded? Have you then felt like God had thumbed his celestrial nose at you?
Following is a short photo series I received in e-mail today. I don’t know the original author, I would like to credit them and see what other works they have. If you know, please let me know.
Perhaps you feel like God has given you thorns and worms. That’s the short view, in God’s time the thorns may well prove to be flowers and the worms to be butterflys.
Or maybe your life has been like thorns and worms and you think there is no way God can do anything with you. Trust Him. Give you life and heart to God. He WILL make something beautiful of your life. I’m reminded of the old song originally sung by the Bill Gaither Trio, “Something Beautiful”.
Something beautiful, something good.
All my confusion He understood.
All I had to offer Him was brokeness and stife,
but he made something beautiful of my life
If there ever were dreams
that were lofty and noble.
They were my dreams at the start.
And hope for life’s best were the hopes
that I harbored down deep in my heart.
But my dreams turned to ashes
and my castles all crumbled, my fortune turned to loss.
So I wrapped it all in the rags of life
and laid it at the cross.
And he made Something beautiful, something good.
