Hey bro, you do have the right heart towards giving. Not something you see these days in church. Instead people give because they want to get. A bit selfish really.

One thing seems certain in today’s church, preachers do not trust that God would take care of their financial needs so instead they use the tool of fear cloaked in the doctrine tithing to ensure that they get a steady income. This has given rise to the belief of tithing and/or giving to get, with Malachi 3: 10 misapplied to give it some credence.

By the time a rule on how to give is introduced be it 10%, 20% or 50% it stops being grace giving and starts to become works or legalism. One should give with no strings attached.

I love your heart it is very sincere and you have the right attitude. And truly, the satisfaction and joy of seeing that one has been able to help a fellow Christian brother or sister meet a need is more than enough blessing in itself. Please keep up the good work.
